The Beauty of The Arch at Cabo San Lucas

The Arch at Cabo San Lucas, also known as "El Arco," is a natural rock formation located in the Los Cabos area of Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in the region, and is a popular tourist destination.

The Arch is formed by the erosion of granite rock over millions of years by the ocean waves, and it stands at approximately 140 feet tall. The Arch is part of the Cabo San Lucas Natural Protected Area, and is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches, making it a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

Tourists can reach the Arch by boat, and there are many tour operators in the area that offer boat trips to the site. We recommend Three Brothers:  https://www.3brothersloscabos.com or call Luis who is usually standing by on the beach at Villa La Estancia.  His phone number is +52 624 265 8305.  The boats typically make several stops along the way, including at nearby Lover's Beach and the nearby Sea Lion Colony. Visitors can also climb the rocks to reach the top of the Arch for a panoramic view of the surrounding ocean and coastline.

The Arch at Cabo San Lucas has been a popular tourist destination for many years, and it is one of the most photographed sites in Mexico. The landmark is also a popular spot for proposal and wedding photos, as the backdrop of the ocean and the natural beauty of the area create a stunning and romantic setting.

There are two beaches at The Arch, only accessible by boat.  Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach are two of the most popular beaches located near the Arch at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  The boats will let tourists off on Lovers Beach and then you can walk down and across to Divorce Beach.

Divorce Beach is located on the Pacific side of the tip of the Baja Peninsula and is known for its rough surf and strong currents, making it less suitable for swimming. However, it is a popular spot for experienced surfers and bodyboarders, who come to the area to take advantage of the powerful waves. The beach is named "Divorce Beach" due to its dangerous conditions, which have resulted in a number of tragic accidents over the years.

Lovers Beach, on the other hand, is a secluded and tranquil beach located on the Sea of Cortez side of the Arch. It is a popular spot for snorkeling and swimming, and is known for its clear turquoise waters and soft sand. The beach is only accessible by boat, and visitors can reach it by taking a water taxi from the nearby marina. Lovers Beach is named after the scenic and romantic setting that it provides, and it is a popular spot for couples and newlyweds to take wedding and engagement photos.

The other unique aspect of The Arch at Cabo San Lucas is a cool formation in the rocks that looks like a window.  Most tourists miss this part of the arch, but if you look carefully (or ask your guide) you can truly see an amazing view.  The "Window to the Pacific" at the Arch in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico refers to a narrow passageway located between two rock formations near the Arch. This passageway provides a view of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding coastline.

The Window to the Pacific is located on the Pacific side of the tip of the Baja Peninsula and is accessible by boat. Visitors can approach the window from the sea, and the boats typically stop in the area so that passengers can take photos and enjoy the view. The passageway is framed by towering rock formations, and the clear blue waters of the Pacific Ocean stretch out beyond it, providing a breathtaking panoramic view.

One last detail of spending time at El Arco is Pelican Rock.  It is a small rock formation located near the Arch at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It is a popular spot for snorkeling and diving, as the clear waters around the rock are home to a diverse array of marine life, including tropical fish, sea turtles, and colorful coral.  Pelican Rock gets its name from the large number of pelicans that can often be seen perched on the rocks. The area around Pelican Rock is also a popular spot for fishing, and visitors can often see fishing boats and pangas in the area.
