1. Cerritos Beach (Best in Winter/Spring)
Located about 45-60 minutes north of Villa La Estancia on the Pacific side, Cerritos is the crown jewel of beginner surfing. It features a vast, sandy bottom and very consistent waves that break far out, giving you a long ride.

2. Costa Azul / Zipper’s (Best in Summer/Fall)

What to Expect During Your First Lesson

- Transport: A shuttle picks you up right from the lobby of the resort.
- The Land Lesson: You’ll start on the sand. You’ll learn about ocean safety, how to position your body on the board, and the "pop-up" technique.
- The Water: Your instructor will be in the water with you, physically helping you catch waves by giving your board a gentle push at the right moment. This allows you to focus entirely on your balance.
- The Success: Most guests are standing up (at least for a few seconds!) by the end of their first hour.

- Dress for Success: Wear a well-fitting swimsuit. For ladies, a one-piece or athletic bikini is recommended; for men, board shorts with a drawstring. Most schools provide a "rash guard" (a swim shirt) to protect your skin from the board—wear it!
- Sun Protection is Non-Negotiable: The Cabo sun is intense, and it reflects off the water. Use reef-safe, water-resistant sunscreen, and don't forget the back of your legs—you’ll be spending a lot of time paddling face down.
- Listen to Your Instructor: They understand the currents and the "sets." If they tell you to paddle hard, paddle like your life depends on it!
